The Infinite Wisdom and Power of God

By Scott Bailey

It is amazing the amount of information we have today at our fingertips. To answer almost every trivial question or even some tough questions, all I have to do is type into my cell phone web browser and get the answer. I don’t even have to get up and walk to my computer or open an encyclopedia.

If I want to know what is going on in Jerusalem, all the way across the world, I can easily look it up on my cell phone. If I need to be in Jerusalem tomorrow (which is 6,554 miles away from Lincoln), I can simply buy an airline ticket, from my cell phone I might add, and I can be on my way there … pretty impressive, huh?

Well, the things we see as so impressive are not so impressive when we think about our God. Isaiah Chapter 40 puts the wonders of our modern technology in proper perspective. Verse 26 says,

Lift up your eyes on high and see who has created the stars, the One who leads forth their host by number, He calls them all by name; because of the greatness of His might and the strength of His power, not one of them is missing.

One thing you will not find on your phone is the name God has given to each and every star!

Consider Job 38:12. In this familiar passage God says,

Have you ever in your life commanded the morning, and caused the dawn to know its place?

This should have a resounding ring in our ears every second of the day! God and His power and wisdom should control our actions and thinking.

Worries and anxiety can be dissolved with our God. He is the One that commands the morning. Why then do we resist letting Him command the actions in our lives every day?
